Personal Diet Reflection #1

Today I thought I would let you know my health updates as a few of you have been interested about my own journey.  As you may know it started with the whole dermatologist escapade with them telling me over and over to take more antibiotics and to be careful what I put on my face.  I found out that all along it was not external but internal that needed the help.

Isn’t it just like God to bring you through a storm in the external when He is really trying to get you to see yourself in the mirror on the internal?!  He never fails to amaze me in His patient and lasting corrections.  During this research time I have undergone much re-learning about our health care industry as well getting to know the Lord in a more deeper and intimate way.  He has blessed me with a plethora of wisdom and knowledge through scripture and how it relates to the functions of our bodies, minds and spirits.

In the beginning of my journey, summer of 2009, I embarked on the study of the organs that were directly connected to the symptoms, which was acne.  I found that my kidneys and liver may be in bad condition, and it was no wonder!  My life before Christ was complete and total rebellion on my mind, body and spirit!  I had abused my body for so long in all these areas and God was going to heal me supernaturally.  He is so good to me ;)

My beautiful husband DanielMy husband, being the strong supportive man that he is, invested in my first juicer.  I began researching vegetables and fruits and the benefits they each contained.  I needed to detox my liver and kidneys first and so I was consuming the produce that provided the most nutrients that those organs needed to perform their best.  I juiced red cabbage, beets, kale, spinach, lemon, ginger, garlic, carrots, celery, green bell peppers,  apples and so much more.

It was a huge change in diet as I went from the S.A.D. to an almost completely all raw juice diet.  I was crucifying my flesh from what it wanted to what it needed.  Let me tell you, adjusting my diet didn’t come naturally, but I knew I had to attack the devil just like he has so diligently attacked my health. I wasn’t going down without a fight!

In the first two months I noticed my skin clear up almost 100%!  I was absolutely amazed! God never misleads me!  I was digging more and more into the raw vegan diet and during this time people were asking me what to do about some serious health issues and I began to notice, everyone has some type of health issue and even kids are starting to acquire serious health conditions.  I put together small pamphlets and was writing my own articles and help topics.  God was leading me somewhere, He was up to something good!

PeaceThat is how this site came to be and my current book is being written. So this is what it feels like having total submission to His call.  Complete peace has blanketed my career, my mind, my body and spirit.  Helping others is more gratifying than pursuing just what I want to do.  Seeing others prosper gives me great pleasure and watching lives turn around from the simple outreach of health in love which is Christ Jesus is the true blessing in life to me.  I know this is not only the gift God has given me to reach others but it is a great one.

Changes are coming…

My current health has greatly improved!  Things I once thought normal has completely dissipated. Here are some of the things I have taken into account:

  • Constant annoying flem-gone!
  • Kidney pain-gone!
  • Odd dark spots on skin (doctors did not have a name for)-gone!
  • Blemishes-gone!
  • Dry Skin spot on ankle-gone!
  • Crackling sounds in my chest when I breathed in deep-gone!
  • Loud neck crackling-gone!
  • Toothaches-gone!
  • Tighter gums and teeth

I can’t believe I actually believed what the doctors said!  They even said things like the neck crackling and flem was normal!

FreshMy raw vegan intake has gone from %50 to about %90-%100 on a daily basis.  My health continues to improve and I am loving this journey.  I encourage everyone to try it out seriously for one to two months.  It is not difficult only different.  And if you don’t see any benefits in health or more energy then go back to the S.A.D.  But I can almost guarantee you will notice a huge difference in your overall attitude and energy after two months.  Some people have been healed of diabetes and cancer, ready to but chopped up on the surgery table in less than two months!

Remember to be gental with yourself.  Start as slow or as fast as you can by increasing raw vegetables and fruits into your daily meals.  It is not my hopes that you become fully raw but that you invest in your future by increasing them into your diet.  Live foods for a live body!

If you had a cure for cancer, would you keep it to yourself? Certainly not me!

In all you do, give thanks to the Lord for leading you here and sending you this message. May God richly bless your life!

You demand and I’ll supply.  I always encourage suggestions or questions and since there has been an increasingphoto by Shea Steveinterest in what I am eating and experiencing, I will supply uou with a summary of my experience from the last Personal Diet Reflection.

________________________________________________________________________

First…What Does Melissa Leslie-Quinones Eat daily?

Now meals I eat daily, are not always consistent and are interchangeable, but I will give you a general basis of what I eat daily.

Breakfast:

I like to give my body about 30 minutes to wake up and finish any digesting that was left over from the day before.  Stretch and catch up on emails.

I juice almost 2 whole glasses of citrus fruits like pineapple, orange, lemon and I add either carrots or apples and ginger.

_______________________________________________________________________

Brunch:

Banana, papaya, avocado or young coconut

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Lunch:

This really depends on how busy I am or if I’m out and about.  I usually like to have a green smoothie or juice along with a salad.  If I am out I like to eat at vegan places like Native Foods.

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Dinner:

Depending if I didn’t have a green juice for lunch I will have one for lunch.  I like to prepare a cooked meal for my husband like steak, chicken or fish.  All meats are grass fed or wild caught to ensure they have been properly taken care of as well as not having any toxins injected in them.  I do not usually eat cooked foods but I am not so stuck on all raw that I will not consider those around me and what they might like to eat.

_______________________________________________________________

Dessert:

Raw cookies or brownies with my Lacuma Matata Ice Cream and raw cacao syrup!  Or strawberries, blueberries or blackberries in raw cacao syrup.   The list is endless!

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Snacks:

Raw nuts, seeds, celery sticks in fresh raw nut butters, raw roll-ups, banana, papaya, avocado or young coconut.

Personal Diet Reflection:

January2010 is when I stepped up my raw food intake from about 80%  to 90-100% on the daily.  I noticed my clothes fitting a little looser.  It was not the outcome I was looking for but, nevertheless, while I was at my friends house, I weighed myself (don’t have a scale of my own).  I have lost 6 pounds in about one month’s worth of time!  I am a bit sad about that, as I didn’t want to lose weight but I am excited to let those of you who want to lose weight know that it isentirely possible with the MLove Diet.

Keep on keepin’ on folks!  If lasting results are what you are looking for…then this is the diet you need to seek to have as a lifestyle and consistently tasty diet.

Recipes are coming soon!  Keep your eye on your emails…or subscribe if you have not already!
